Artist Statement: This dance shows my voice because it shows that girls are strong. Girls can sing and dance. I like dancing because it makes me feel good and like I'm flying. I can show my feelings and how strong I am through my movements.

Artist Statement: I danced to the song "Halo" by Beyoncé. It shows my voice because I like to dance in front of my mommy and daddy and my classmates. Moving my body makes me feel excited, strong and brave.

Artist Statement: This dance shows my voice because I am Japanese and American. Japanese folk dancing and American hip hop dancing are two good dancing styles that I combined to make a new dance.

Artist Statement: There are many ways to show one’s voice. I like to show my voice through dance because I can express my feelings through movement. While dancing I can show emotions like sadness, happiness, madness and I can be dramatic without being judged. In this dance, I feel empowered and I feel I can show people that dance is my runway and I can do anything. I chose the song “Cover Girl” by RuPaul because he expresses himself through singing and dancing the way he chooses. My dance is fun
and full of sassiness just like me.

Title: Nothing Can Hurt Me
Artist Statement: I have worked on this dance for 5 months. This song and the moves are my favorites. I currently take 8 dance classes which are ballet, company, turns & leaps, jazz, theater, hip-hop, lyrical, and tap. I put all my joy in this dance. This dance makes me proud and I think the audience will see wow and gracefulness.

Artist Statement: I show my voice by dancing because it lets me show emotion without speaking. I love all forms of dance but I chose to do breakdancing because it challenges me physically and mentally.

Artist Statement: I have studied the ancient art of Khattak, and Indian form of dance for years. We express ourselves through our movements, our eyes, our beats, and more. A voice can be more than words and we can do more than just feel our emotions. We can show them.

Title: So Much More Than This
Artist Statement: What inspired the dance was that people are always on the internet and always judge themselves negatively. This dance relates to the theme because I believe that everybody is perfectly imperfect and no one should worry about that they aren't perfect.

Title: Emotions Through Motion
Artist Statement: Sometimes I find myself tripping over sentences in a conversation when I try to express an emotion as simple as gratitude. When verbal communication scares you the same way as standing at the edge of a steep cliff, non-verbal communication through movement can become an alternate outlet for expression. When I dance, movement allows my voice to be amplified as loud as the music I am dancing to. In this piece, I feel as if I am screaming at the top of my lungs “I love you!” to the person who picked me up and saved me.

Artist Statement: The film demonstrates how "The Power of No" in empowerment self-defense is one of the best and strongest methods of protecting yourself and showing your boundaries. Showing your voice to anyone violating your boundaries and using the word "no" can get you out of situations you don't want to be in. The power of no guarantees that you have a better and Healthier life.

Artist Statement: It may be challenging to find a way to express yourself and may take time to open up, but when you do, you find not just your voice but another piece of yourself. My song conveys the idea of understanding who you are and standing up for what you believe in. I play guitar and sing about the struggles and finding one's voice. You may feel alone, but know that you are not. Share your thoughts and ideas with others and you will find people like you and different from you, but most of all, you will find
yourself. When you have, know that you have earned all that you have gained from finding your voice.

Title: No Longer Out on My Own
Artist Statement: All along the streets of Los Angeles, the unhoused are invisible to the people walking by them who often stereotype them as outcasts or worse. "No Longer Out on My Own" combats these harmful stereotypes by sharing a formerly homeless woman's story lyrically, illustrating how her determined soul never gave up, finally finding a home after years alone and showing her voice and her story through music. This is one of several songs I have written about various unhoused individuals to amplify their voices so they can be heard.
